The bollard utilises a “Double Flange” system. The bottom flange bolts to the ground, and the top flange (attached to the post) bolts to the bottom one. The connection hardware is designed to be the “fuse” shearing or deforming under heavy load so the post falls over rather than tearing out of the concrete.
