Description

Uncompromising Traffic Control for Heavy Vehicles

When plastic or rubber humps aren’t tough enough, Heavy-Duty Steel Speed Humps are the answer. Engineered for exceptional durability, these humps are designed to withstand constant punishment from heavy rigid trucks, semi-trailers, and forklifts in high-traffic industrial environments.

Constructed from heavy-gauge steel plates with a chequer-plate texture for grip, they provide a robust, permanent solution for slowing vehicles down to a safe crawl. The system is fully modular, featuring 1000mm Body Sections (supplied as alternating Yellow/Black pairs) and rounded End Caps, allowing you to construct a speed hump to fit any roadway width perfectly.

1. Superior Load Capacity (Trucks & Forklifts)

Rubber humps can compress or tear under the turning wheels of a forklift. Steel does not. These humps are rigid and practically indestructible, making them the only viable choice for loading docks, weighbridges, and heavy-haulage yards.

2. High-Visibility Compliance

Safety requires visibility. The sections are finished in high-contrast Safety Yellow and Black, ensuring drivers see the hazard well in advance. The raised steel profile provides an unmistakable physical “rumble” that forces immediate speed reduction.

3. Modular & Versatile

Need to cover a 6-metre driveway? No problem.

  • SHSTHD (Body): Each unit covers 1 metre of roadway.

  • SHSTEHD (Ends): Finish the run with a rounded end cap to prevent tripping hazards.

  • Simply calculate the width of your road and order the corresponding number of 1-metre modules.

Why use Steel instead of Rubber?

Durability. Rubber is great for car parks with light cars, but heavy trucks and forklifts with solid tyres can tear rubber apart over time. Steel is rigid and does not deform, ensuring a much longer lifespan in heavy industrial zones.

Are they noisy?

Steel humps create more noise than rubber when hit at speed. However, this audible “clank” acts as an additional deterrent, encouraging drivers to slow down before they hit the hump.

Can I install these on Asphalt/Bitumen?

Yes. However, because asphalt is softer than concrete, we recommend using longer Asphalt Spikes or specialised asphalt anchors to ensure the hump doesn’t pull loose over time. Standard dynabolts are for concrete only.
